  6. Welcome to this playable demo!
  7.  
  8. Requirements
  9. ------------
  10. The Lost Vikings Demo requires VGA, 640k, hard drive.  It supports Adlib
  11. and Sound Blaster sound.  
  12.

  14. Goal
  15. ----
  16. The goal of the Lost Vikings is to get your three viking dudes out of
  17. trouble and through the level.  You have to work together, and utilize
  18. their individual abilities to make it.  Hey, you can do it!  But remember,
  19. you must get all three Vikings through the level safely.  If even one
  20. Viking dies, then you have to restart the level.  This is teamwork game!

  23. The Vikings
  24. -----------
  25. You are in control of three vikings: Baleog the Fierce, Erik the Swift &
  26. Olaf the Stout.  Baleog can fight and shoot arrows, Erick can run and
  27. jump, and Olaf can defend and glide.  Learn their special and unique
  28. talents to make it through the levels.

  31. Controls
  32. --------
  33. Keyboard Controls - 
  34.     
  35. Left/Right Arrow Keys and 4/6 on Numerical Keypad -
  36.     Moves the Viking Left or Right
  37. Up/Down Arrow Keys and 2 and 5/8 on Numerical Keypad - 
  38.     When a Viking is on a ladder or an elevator, pushing UP or DOWN 
  39.     will move the Viking in that direction.
  40. F, Space Bar, Enter, Number + and Number Enter -
  41.     Performs a Viking's primary ability.
  42.     Baleog the Fierce will swing his mighty sword.
  43.     Erik the Swift will jump to great heights.
  44.     Olaf the Stout will raise or lower his shield.
  45. D -
  46.     Performs a Viking's secondary ability.
  47.     Baleog the Fierce will shoot arrows with his bow.
  48.     Erik the Swift will use his head to bash while running.
  49.     Olaf the Stout will raise or lower his shield.
  50. E -
  51.     Allows a Viking to use the highlighted item from his supply of items.
  52. S - 
  53.     Allows a Viking to activate buttons, flip switches, etc. and talk 
  54.     to other characters.
  55.  
  56. Ctrl, 0, 7 and 9 on Numerical Keypad -
  57.     Will enable the player to take control of one of the other two 
  58.     Vikings.  
  59. Esc, P and Alt-P - 
  60.     Pressing one of these keys during play will pause the game.  When 
  61.     the game is paused you will be given the option to GIVE UP?  
  62.     Choosing YES will restart you at the beginning of the same level.  
  63.     Choosing NO will resume the game. The GIVE UP option is particularly 
  64.     useful if one of you Vikings has died or are in a position so that 
  65.     you cannot complete the level.  You cannot complete the level if a 
  66.     Viking has died.
  67. Tab and Caps Lock - 
  68.     Allows you to choose the item to be used.  To choose an item, press 
  69.     one of these buttons and move the flashing box to the desired item.  
  70.     Pressing the button again will resume the game.  This can also be 
  71.     used to pause the game.
  72. Alt-X and Alt-Q - 
  73.     Will quit the game and put you back into DOS.
  74. Alt-S - 
  75.     Will turn the sound off, pressing the buttons again will turn the 
  76.     sound back on.
  77.  
  78. Alt-M - 
  79.     Will turn the music off, pressing the buttons again will turn the 
  80.     music back on.
